4AM Freakout

While we are talking about sleeping arrangements. How many of you know the feeling of waking up refreshed and feeling wow, how long did I sleep? Only to realize as you look at the clock that you last looked at it over 7 hours ago? Not many? Me either, until this morning. And it freaked me the hell out!

I haven't been able to put 2 coherent sentences together these last 2 weeks, hence, no posts. The Baby has been up and down, up and down and up and down every 2 hours or so for a while. And oh my lord, why won't he nap?? I get about 15-20 min on my lap after nursing and when I try to put him down...eyeballs wide awake ready to eat again or play. I am assuming he was having a massive growth spurt. I can't wait to see what he weighs on his 4 month visit.

So anyway. picture it. 4AM. I wake up and realize I last looked at the clock at 9PM. Rushed out to the Baby's pack&play to make sure he was still breathing. Yes, that kind of freakout. He was fine and still sound asleep. Took another hour to calm myself down and then I hear the 'I'm hungry' fuss start around 5AM. He eats, goes back down and I don't hear from him again until 7:30. Nice. Cross fingers that we are now in a nice sleeping pattern.

The cats love the Baby. They let him pull their hair. They have always been great with babies. They have never once hissed, scratched (on purpose) or bit the Kid or the Baby.
Yes, that is freaky Bob the Builder PJs that have no head.

Left: Abby, Right: Zoe
And no, I didn't name them after Sesame Street characters. We had them before we had kids.

And just look at those eyes!

Loooooong Day

I am so exhausted. Yesterday, Friday, in the pouring nasty weather we were having I had to bring the cats 30 min away to get them thier rabies shots. My gram came with us to help and she really thought I was exagerating when I told her Zoe will cry all the way there and all the way back, well, I wasn't. But it was still worth it to pay only $50 than the $170 it would have been at the vet around the corner. Then we came back and dropped them off, I went to boro hall and registered them with the town then we ran over to the library. Then to KMart to get the Kid a fishing pole for the fishing contest we had no idea if it was going to be cancelled or not. (See tomorrows post about it, it's sunny now and we'll be heading over soon) Then we had to go to Shop Rite. It was a long exhausting day, but I still made another batch of Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins! This time I bought organic white whole wheat flour. They didn't puff up as much as the plain white flour, but the Kid is still plowing through them. And so is my pregnant ass. YUM!

Cat Scratch Fever

Last week we got a knock on the door from a lady from the police department asking if we had any pets.
*Crap.*
I told her yes, we have 2 cats. Only because I knew at any minute Zoe (the attention whore) would come up and rub against my legs. She is the nosiest cat I have ever had. Of course, this time she didn't. Apparently in this town we just moved into last January all dogs and cats must be registered. I have never registered a cat before so I had no clue. Abby & Zoe are indoor cats and have been fixed. I don't get it.

So now I need to get them updated on their rabies shot. I looked up their paperwork and their 3 year shot they got (duh) 3 years ago just expired in March, so now they will have to get a 1 year shot. They do NOT do well in the car. Do I bring them to a local vet and pay an arm & a leg or bring them about 25 minutes away to the county shelter and only pay $25 each? Zoe will poop and pee in the carrier within 5 minutes. Guaranteed. Argh. Yes, they are adorable and the best behaved cats with kids. They never, ever hissed, scratched or bit the Kid and we had the cats first. But they are the biggest pains in the butt. They have to be in bed with us most nights, until we kick them off 15 times a night. We have all hard wood floors and the funniest sound is them running chasing after a toy and then sliding into the couch. Mean, but funny.

Oh and I swear I did NOT name them after the Sesame Street characters! HAHA! It is pure coincidence that there is an orange puppet named Zoe and a new fairy named Abby!! They are almost 5 years old, way before we had a kid and way before that magic Cadabby. My idea was they were A to Z. Cute, right? But now they are muppets.
So here are my 'other babies'...

This is Abby. The photographic one.

This is Zoe, the attention whore...I took about 10 pictures of her, but everyone she blinked.

Does Abby smell the fish I just ate?? Zoe looks pissed.

They are sisters that I adopted from a shelter, but almost look nothing alike, except for the orange they both have on their bellies and the orange strip on their noses.
