So I went back to the consignment shop today. That place is going to get me in BIG trouble. The problem is, it's a really nice place. She doesn't take any crap. At.All. Which is good for shopping, bad for dropping off....huh, what? I actually dropped something off today! Hubby was so proud to get older baby stuff out of the house. In case you don't know me, I have kept everything baby and packed it away, just in case I need it later. Well, today, I dropped off the Graco metrolite stroller and infant car seat travel system to be SOLD! Go me! Previously I had bought the snap and go stroller at the consignment shop for $20 and I just bought the new infant seat (that the baby can be in up to 30 pounds) last week. So moving out the old and in with the new.
I also attempted to drop off a bag of 6 pairs of shoes. She wouldn't take them. They were either too dirty or too cheap. Shoes are the only thing that doesn't go fast there, so she only takes higher end shoes (read: Stride Rite). And everything has to be pristine. But she prices to sell. So when you find nice clothes, they are worth it.
She priced my travel set for $60. Which I will get 1/2 of when it sells. That isn't the problem, the problem is I looked around since it wasn't time to pick up the Kid from the Little Gym yet and spend another $70 there. Oh yea.
What the hell did you buy? You ask... Well, a few really nice bigger outfits for fall/winter for the Kid, of course. Isn't it totally worth it to get a pair of (brand new looking) Gap jeans for $4!?!? And a nice Jets jersey and a Tow Mater t-shirt from the Disney Store...just to name a few.
Then I saw this beautiful diaper bag. It was blue and yellow and had a palm tree on it and looked just like a beach bag. It was so pretty. I was thinking, eh it can't be more than $10, $20 tops. Whoa boy, I was wrong. It was a Lily Pulitzer diaper bag (complete with matching changing pad) and it said on the tag that it would have been (brand new) at the store across the street for $250!! WHAT?!?!? It was there for $40. I.had.to.buy.it. And I am not a 'brand name' shopper. I just loved the color and that it was a diaper bag that looked like a beach bag. I am very happy getting a cute little bag in Kohl's for $20. In fact I don't think I have ever paid more than $50 for a bag. Ever.
I once knew a girl who bought a $250+ Coach diaper bag. That is so NOT me.
But, I realized today that I am a bag-a-holic. Seriously. I have at least 6 diaper bags that I can remember of the top of my head packed away somewhere. I have at least 6 pocket books that I try to rotate depending on where I go. I have a few gym bags. And I have 2 beach totes.
Some women love shoes, some jewelry, some clothes ... I? Love bags. I can't help it. But, in my defense, I can think of at least 2 diaper bags that I can replace with this nice new bag and drop them off at the consignment shop! :)
What is your favorite thing to buy and when you see one you just can't pass it up?

My Day in a Really BIG Nutshell
I haven't tried to hook up the camera to the computer yet, so I don't have any good pictures for today. Sorry. Hubby has been working upstairs more, since we are T-minus 7 1/2 weeks till baby day, and he hasn't got around to showing me it's ok to try yet. Although, we have to get a move on, I have almost filled up my 1gig card and I really don't want to take it out, put it aside and risk losing it just to put in my other card.
Today was a looooooooong day. I got a lot accomplished, but I am exhausted. The Kid had the Little Gym today and while he was there I went downtown to this awesome little consignment shop. They had a few snap & go strollers that I wanted to look at (I knew b/c we stopped in there real quick before the movie on Monday.) And a friend of mine wanted one too. So I bought 2 for $20 each! Awesome deal considering brand new they are $60.
Then I saw the bedding set that I had wanted SO bad for the Kid's nursery. But, over 5 years when I registered they didn't have this. And after my baby shower when I got my green patchwork set and after I already put the matching border up on his room I saw it on my next trip at BRU. It was there...at the consignment shop...for $20!!! 2 fitted crib sheets, diaper stacker, 2 valences, 5 wall hangings and the comforter. I tried to find it online to show you a picture, but I guess they don't sell it anymore...but it has sailboats, birds, anchors, lighthouses, the sun, sandcastle, starfish and all kinds of beachy themed stuff all set on a light blue striped background. The set would easily be over $200 brand new. I can't believe I found it!! You'll just have to wait for my nursery to be done to get a photo. I know, I know, I am dying for it to be done too!!
Then I picked up the Kid at the Little Gym and I took him over to his pediatrician for his 4 year old well visit. No shots this year (yeah!) But my appointment was at 12 and we didn't get out of there until 1. We were starving. We stopped at Charlie Browns for lunch. That took forever too, we didn't get out of there until almost 2:15. I ate my weight at the salad bar and we headed home.
My day isn't over yet my friends...
I had a total of 5 minutes at home until I had to leave for my OB appointment. Luckily, I left the Kid home with daddy and great-grandma because I sat in the waiting room for 1 hour and 15 minutes before I got called in to the exam room to wait another 20 minutes for the doctor. And of course, my visit is only the 5 minute visit. Measure belly, listen to heart beat, how are you feeling? Baby moving? Etc etc... My practice recently lost one doctor (don't know why) and is only down to 2, and only one was there today. It was a pregnant woman zoo. The Kid would have been bouncing off the walls and then he would have fallen alseep on the way to my next stop, or on the way home and would still be up now. (Oh the humanity!)
When I FINALLY got out of there, I had to head over to the mall, which is only 5 minutes from the office. I had to get the diamonds in my engagement ring and wedding ring checked at Zales. As long as I do it every 6 months, if any are loose or fall out they will replace/fix for free. I am a few weeks late since I am supposed to get them checked every June and December...but that's ok. They are pretty easy going about it. Well, 2 tiny side stones on my engagement ring are loose and the jeweler doesn't come in until Aug 9th. So I have to keep it safe to drop it off after then for him to tighten them up.
This time I made my next OB appointment for 9:30 AM so to beat the back up of the 2:45 PM appointment I had today. So, I will drop off my ring after that one in 2 weeks...and hopefully be able to get it back before I go into labor.
Whew. I am exhausted just reading about my day. Time for bed. I would love a glass of wine right now.
I want to give a shout out to one of my blog friends who just had her beautiful little girl, Lexi. CONGRATS CASS!!!

Magic
Well, first the magical thing is.... I HAVE NOTHING TO DO TODAY! No plans. No outings. Nowhere to be. I may just hit a park and sit and relax. As long as the sun stays out. This is the first day in the last 9 that I have an empty square in my calendar. I am very happy about this. :)
Tomorrow we have a birthday party, and nothing to do over the weekend. (OMG!) Of course this weekend is supposed to be in the 90's. So I will be sitting in front of the a/c. Oh and catching up on all the laundry I have been neglecting for the last 9 days.
In school yesterday the Kid had a magician come to entertain all the 3 year old classes. It was hysterical. I was standing in the hallway listening. The laughter of 4 classes of 15 kids was so infectious.
While he was in school I even went and got myself a pedicure! I now have some pretty pink toes and much smaller callouses.
We went the mall after school to have lunch with his 'girlfriend'. We went to Johnny Rockets. It was the first time we had ever been there. He was so excited to have the chocolate shake before his lunch. I was a little worried that he wouldn't eat his grilled cheese, but he ate every bite.

Then we went to Babies R Us to check out baby stuff. Then we then went to the DMV, MVC, whatever the heck they are calling the NJ inspection station nowadays and got my pretty new sticker that keeps me from going back there until 2010! :)

Loooooong Day
I am so exhausted. Yesterday, Friday, in the pouring nasty weather we were having I had to bring the cats 30 min away to get them thier rabies shots. My gram came with us to help and she really thought I was exagerating when I told her Zoe will cry all the way there and all the way back, well, I wasn't. But it was still worth it to pay only $50 than the $170 it would have been at the vet around the corner. Then we came back and dropped them off, I went to boro hall and registered them with the town then we ran over to the library. Then to KMart to get the Kid a fishing pole for the fishing contest we had no idea if it was going to be cancelled or not. (See tomorrows post about it, it's sunny now and we'll be heading over soon) Then we had to go to Shop Rite. It was a long exhausting day, but I still made another batch of Chocolate Chip Banana Muffins! This time I bought organic white whole wheat flour. They didn't puff up as much as the plain white flour, but the Kid is still plowing through them. And so is my pregnant ass. YUM!

Where are you Spring?
Spring finally gave us a little tease today. The parks were packed, downtown was bustling and the ocean was full of surfers. Although, the surfers around here are hard core, they surf in the winter anyway, but I am never there to see them.
We went to the consignment shop today first. I went in not really expecting to buy anything. I ended up getting a Lands End spring coat that doesn't even look like it was ever worn, a Billabong polo shirt, a Quicksilver Hawaii looking button down and a rescue hero for the Kid, and 3 maternity shirts (Motherhood) for me for only $45. Score! I can't wait to know what this baby is going to be. They had SO many great things there and in great shape.
I am seriously dying for summer. After shopping I brought the kid down to the beach. We kicked off our shoes and dug in the sand. Of course, I left my camera in the car. I won't make that mistake again.
It was a beautiful day. Hope you all enjoyed it too! What did you do today?
All the while Hubby was at Home Depot and got our new tub for our bathroom upstairs. He spent much more then me. ;) It has jets to make it jacuzzi-like, can't wait!!

Fun House Mirrors
Well, I did it. I took the bull by the horns. I sucked it up. I jumped into the deep end on a cold day. I bit the bullet.
I went bathing suit shopping. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!
It's never fun for any woman. Why do they have to have such awful lighting? If it was better and make you look tan many more bathing suits would look better. And what is up with those mirrors? Don't they know if they are free standing and leaning up against the wall everyone looks skinnier? Haven't they ever been in a fun house?
It's even less fun for a pastey white pregnant woman who is over 200 pounds.
Not fun, my friends.
I looked online first, like I could EVER buy a bathing suit online. I was just looking at the styles at Motherhood and Target, b/c I know I could actually go there and try them on.
I picked Target. They had only 3 bathing suits styles on the rack and there were only about 5 of each style. Oh boy! I better pick one now or I am going to be stuck with the ugliest one left! Or *gasp* buying one online!
Now I know you are all thinking how brave I am to even own a maternity bathingsuit, nevertheless wear it in public. Well, I live a mile from the ocean and I have a 3 1/2 year old child that LOVES the beach. So it will be our second home this summer.
I found a cute one:
No, you will probably not ever see me in it. Like you will probably never see any belly shots. But it was a nice large bottom and had some great coverage on the boobage....although, I did switch the bottoms... shhhhhhh. I slid one size top with a different size bottom past the checkout girl. (Larger on the bottom, of course.) Don't tell Target. Half the suits I brought in the dressing room were all missmatched anyway, so I don't think I am the first one.
